If you are someone who appreciates gorgeous coffee but do not have the space or willingness to buy an espresso machine with it's accessories, manual coffee machines could be exactly what you are looking for. Sometimes these are known as portable coffee makers but we refer to these specific models as Manual Coffee Machines.
Manual Coffee Machines are perfect for at home use and are ridiculously easy to use and maintain. Without the need of technical skill and support, you’ll be firing away coffees at low cost and with ease!
Some of the beautiful products we hold for those looking into manual brewing are, the Cafelat Robot, Flair Espresso Manual Press and Nomad by Uniterra Portable Espresso. This range will be growing in the future so make sure you keep your eye out for new products and designs.
The Cafelat Robot offers something different from your usual brewing. It’s lever brewing method definitely makes you work harder for that delicious double espresso it produces.
It uses only a few mechanical parts, which means no electronics! Machine is made from stainless steel so it’s built to last, throw some ground coffee into the basket, hot water and you’re all set! There are no capsules needed so you can ease the weight off your shoulders, no need for landfills.
Relatively easy when it comes to cleaning up, the piston, shower screen basket and base just needs a wipe and you’re all set.
The Flair is a quick and easy unit that produces a pretty neat espresso. The single arm lever requires pressure to be applied slowly allowing the hot water to push through the brewing chamber.
The unit is made from stainless steel and premium grade aluminium making its structure extremely durable. The flair packs away easily making it versatile for your next trip!
The Bellman CX-25P offers something that little bit different than our previous two contenders. Unlike the Flair or the Robot, the Bellman keeps going once the espresso has been extracted. Its unique design allows the device to texture milk with its steam arm built into the brewing unit.
Although this is not one of your typical ‘manual’ brewing units, it is extremely unique for a stovetop machine. It gives you plenty of options of espresso volume you wish to brew, along with creating multiple milk-based beverages with the steam arm.
You’ll need some form of heat source under the device for brewing whether it be a stove top, induction cooktop or even fire pit! This is a unit I would be interested in giving a crack at on my next camping trip.
The Wacaco Minipresso is the perfect manual espresso machine using Nespresso pods or ground coffee to prepare delicious espresso. This device makes your morning coffee less than a few seconds away. All you need to do is add hot water and pump the piston a few times.
Much like the Wacaco Minipresso, Wacaco also has made the Nanopresso. This is the more expensive variant of manual "presso" and is due to its ability of producing a near machine quality espresso. This is because of the 18 bars (261PSI) it delivers which is more than most home style coffee machine setups. The Nanopresso is much more efficient and although it produces much more pressure, it is 15% easier to pump than the Minipresso.
