Breville has grown since its inception in Sydney in1932, as an Australian brand of small home appliances. Being based in Sydney and watching the world of coffee develop around them, Breville fell in love with the third wave of specialty coffee and has focused on bringing their world of specialty into everyday Australian homes. They have focused on three areas of coffee: Traditional Espresso Machines, Nespresso Machines, Coffee Brewers, and Coffee Grinders.
Breville created a range of Home Espresso Machines, both manual and automatic espresso machines that honour tradition and techniques that define the very fundamentals required for third-wave specialty coffee.
A common question we get is "What is the best espresso machine?" and this is a hard question as it really depends on use and expectations. Breville has done well at having a wide range of machines to cater to different levels of home coffee, budgets, and kitchen sizes. From the super cute Bambino to the range-topping Oracle Plus.
The whole range has been designed around their 4 key formula principle being: the right dose of freshly ground beans, precise temperature control, optimal water pressure, and the ability to create true microfoam milk. Their manual espresso machines give you the hands-on control of a barista, like a pro.
Breville has also developed a range of Nespresso machines allowing convenient and consistently high-quality coffee experiences in the home without the mess, which we will be introducing thought 2021. On a personal note here, we have been mixed minded about carrying Nespresso machines due to the environmental aspect of coffee capsules.
One of our five core values is "Environmentally mindful - Love for the environment, our future generations and mini-me’s!" so we have stayed away from capsule machines even tho they are a profitable segment of the market. Yet, as more and more coffee companies are starting to release fully bio-degradable coffee capsules, we are starting to relax our opinion on capsule machines and slowly starting to range them.
Breville's Precision Coffee Brewers have come at a perfect time as brew methods such as filter coffee "batch brew" have increased in popularity. With Breville's Precision Coffee Brewers you can choose between a flat bottom basket to boost floral, dried fruit, and cocoa notes or a semi-conical basket for brighter, citrus, and berry notes. We have seen a crazy increase in sales of these Precision Coffee Brewers which paired with a home coffee grinder such as the Breville Smart Grinder Pro are a perfect home coffee setup.
Fresh is best is the coffee industry motto, and the only way to achieve fresh is by grinding coffee beans on demand. The quality and precise dose of freshly ground beans is key to creating great-tasting third-wave specialty coffee. Breville's grinders aere built with a stainless steel conical burr grinding mechanism and are designed to minimise grind heat and protect essential oils where fresh coffee flavor resides.
With up to 60 intuitive grind settings, Breville’s programmable coffee grinders maximize the potential of any brew. Choose between 'cups' for French Press or Filter and 'shots' for Espresso to get the right dose for the coffee you're brewing. Grind directly into a portafilter or an air-tight container.
The Smart Grinder Pro offers the additional feature of Dosing iQ technology. Precision Digital Time allows you to adjust and program grind time in 0.2 - 1 second increments, giving you total control and a perfect dose every time.
Every Breville espresso machine uses the 4 Keys formula, optimizing each aspect from grind to extraction and micro-foam milk texture. Their espresso machines are designed to use the right dose of freshly ground beans, ensure precise temperature control, optimal water pressure and create true micro-foam milk to deliver a harmonious blend of golden espresso and velvety textured milk.
