Bialetti Stove Top Coffee Makers

When most people think stove-top coffee brewing, they think of products made famous by the Bialetti brand. A marvel of simplicity and engineering, the original Moka Express has lived on the stove in millions of homes in Australia and around the world since 1933.

The Bialetti stove-top coffee maker range includes the original Moka Express, the Moka Induction, the Venus and the Brikka - all in a range of sizes to suit your needs. With over 300 million units sold around the world, Bialetti is by far the most popular stovetop coffee maker and for good reason - their products are excellent quality, simple and simply work.

Need help choosing your Bialetti Stove-Top Coffee Maker?

Choosing your Bialetti coffee maker is typically pretty simple - pick a size and colour and then determine if you want stainless or the more traditional aluminium construction.

Do I need stainless?

If you are using an induction cooktop, you'll need a stainless version from either the Bialetti Moka Induction range or the more design-focused Bialetti Venus range.

Are there any other reasons to choose between the two?

All Bialetti models are designed to withstand the heat of hot stoves and resist rust. The more traditional aluminium versions in the Moka Express and Bialetti Brikka ranges feature Bialetti’s distinctive eight-sided shape allowing for optimal heat diffusion. They heat up and cool down relatively quickly when compared to the stainless steel models providing a rich, dense, authentic espresso brewed in just minutes. For those preferring a smoother coffee taste, Bialetti’s stainless stove-top coffee makers, crafted in high-quality 18/10 stainless offer a gentler way to brew.

Whatever you choose, Bialetti’s legacy lies in quality and reliability. The Bialetti stove-top espresso range offers a durable, low-cost, space-efficient and minimalist alternative to the classic espresso machine.

How does the Bialetti Stove Top Espresso Maker Work?

The stovetop Bialetti espresso maker has a water chamber at the base of the brewing device which holds water whilst it is heated for brewing. This water is filled below the safety valve to ensure safety when brewing.

Above the water chamber is a coffee basket, where the ground coffee is placed (typically a medium grind). The coffee basket of the Bialetti Stove Top Espresso Maker holds the coffee grounds and has many tiny holes in the base. These incredibly small holes allow steam to rise and begin to extract all that espresso deliciousness.

The filter screen sits above the Coffee Basket which allows the brewed coffee to rise but not the grounds. The pressure created from the water chamber forces water upwards and out of the funnel running through the centre of the device. This then results in two spouts flowing freshly brewed coffee into the upper chamber. Once bubbling is heard, the extraction process is complete, and your espresso coffee is ready.

Thanks to Bialetti Australia now everyone can enjoy the unique taste of stovetop brews from home.
